While hshv has been taking in more lost/stray animals than in past years, in 2023, the shelter.

Our community outreach was truly impactful, providing vital support to countless pets and their owners.

From our humble beginnings in 1896, we’ve been focused on the loving care of animals (starting with horses!) and people (starting with children!), and have grown nearly every year.

In april 2024 alone, our efforts led to supporting 798 animals through pet food pantries, 29 vouchers redeemed, and 135 vaccines administered, including 112 at our own monthly vaccine and wellness clinic.
